Rosalie Thompson

Executive Assistant

Rosalie started in the brokerage business in 1974 when she moved from Bakersfield, CA to Anchorage, AK during the time the TransCanada pipeline was being built. She went to work for Foster and Marshall, a small financial services firm. She found it interesting to go from 110 in the summer to 30 below in the winter and having to heat your garage as you do your home so the cars would not freeze at night by running water through the engine block..

She left Anchorage in 1976 to work in Great Falls, MT, for another small firm. During this time, she was the cashier/wire operator, and she would have to manually thread the small ticker tape through the quote machine so each trade could be reported and executed. She also had to hand post every buy and sell trade for the day for each Financial Advisor. My how things have changed!

She decided to come back to California in 1979 and settle in Sacramento, taking a job with Dean Witter. In 1987, a family emergency occurred, prompting her to consider moving back to Bakersfield. She called Tom Woodward, the branch manager at Dean Witter (now Morgan Stanley) at the time, and asked if there were any openings for a Sales Assistant. Tom said, yes. She decided to move back home and thus began her now 33 years as Tom's assistant along with Beau and Gabe.

It is highly unusual for a Sales Assistant to work with the same FAs for decades. Our clients have come to trust her with confidence, knowing she will take care of each of their needs in a timely, caring manner. She makes our team complete.

Rosalie and her husband, Melvin, have one daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Jeff Snyder, and three grandchildren, Jarrod, Delaney, and Makayla. They love to travel, camp and fish, but most of all, watching and rooting for their grandchildren at their sporting events.
